The Anzota Caves are a striking set of rock formations, caverns, and cliffs sculpted by the sea over thousands of years, located just a few kilometers south of Arica along the coastal road. The site was inhabited by the Chinchorro culture more than 9,000 years ago, and today features walkways, trails, and viewpoints that allow visitors to safely explore the coast among stone walls, natural tunnels, and the roar of the waves.

The walk offers close encounters with local wildlife: sea lions, guano birds, crabs, and, with luck, dolphins offshore. It's a free activity, ideal for walking at sunset, taking photographs, and connecting with the power of the Pacific in a landscape that feels like it's from another planet.
